DESCRIPTION

We're seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the EKS Lighthouse team — the experience and intelligence layer of Amazon's Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Lighthouse owns how customers observe, diagnose, and manage their Kubernetes clusters at scale through EKS Console, APIs, multi-cluster dashboard, and AI-enabled diagnostic workflows.

This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic thinking to drive the future of container orchestration and influence how AWS simplifies Kubernetes management at scale.

You would own staffing and managing a two-pizza engineering team that will work on creating and operating the fleet of integration services at scale. You would define product roadmaps, build team culture, develop best practices, and continually improve the overall experience for integrating with EKS. The successful candidate will be able to deal with ambiguity, have a passion for problem-solving at scale, and will need to be operationally/technically strong.

If you are excited to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment to deliver results, we would love to hear from you!

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
