About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our innovative team on a permanent basis, working 40 hours per week. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing internal software tools that support the next phase of our quantum processor development roadmap. Your work will span various levels of our software stack, from defining high-level quantum algorithms to executing pulse sequences on physical hardware in our laboratories. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, high-performance software modules that are critical to our research and development efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in quantum computing while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values technical excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in computer science, engineering, physics, or a related field, with a minimum of four years of professional experience in software development within industry settings. Experience working in scientific or R&D environments is considered an asset. Proficiency in Python programming is essential, along with a solid understanding of best coding practices. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, especially in an international team context. Additional expertise in database management, distributed systems, cloud technologies, DevOps, compiler development, or control electronics will be considered advantageous. A proactive attitude, scientific curiosity, and the ability to learn new tools and languages quickly are key traits for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Analyze functional and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals. Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software tools that support quantum processor development and research activities. Conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards and ensure software robustness. Implement and maintain unit tests to guarantee the reliability and stability of software modules. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or performance issues promptly. Contribute to architectural decisions and select appropriate technologies to optimize software performance and scalability. Create comprehensive documentation to facilitate ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing within the team.
