Role Description The Field Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations. The technician will perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, ensuring that hardware and related components operate safely and efficiently. Daily tasks include responding to service requests, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with customers about issues, solutions, and preventive measures. The role also involves collaborating with the internal team, following company procedures and safety standards, managing parts and tools, and keeping accurate records of service activities. Travel within the Ottawa area to various client sites will be required. Qualifications Strong technical aptitude for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment, hardware, and related systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools, read technical documentation, and follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. Effective communication and customer service skills to explain issues, provide updates, and build positive client relationships. Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple service calls, prioritize tasks, and complete accurate documentation. Comfort working on-site, including travel within the Ottawa, ON area, and adapting to different customer environments. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, certification, or related trade education is an asset. Ability to lift and move equipment as needed, and to work safely with tools and electrical or mechanical components. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record preferred.
