About the role
Organization: moVE (Meritrium OmniVentures) Location: Remote (Canada) Type: Internship, Unpaid and Voluntary, For-Credit Eligible Term: Summer 2026, approximately 2 to 3 months Commitment: 15 hours per week, flexible schedule
About moVE moVE (Meritrium OmniVentures) is a venture studio that builds and launches software products across education, operations, and AI-enabled services. We move fast, ship real products, and hold a high bar for quality. As we prepare our platforms for a wider audience, we are looking for a detail-oriented tester to help us find what needs fixing before our users do.
About the Role This is an unpaid, voluntary internship focused entirely on software testing. You will be given access to our software on the application and front-end side. You will not be given access to our code base or our GitHub repositories. Your job is to use the software the way a real user would, put it through its paces, and tell us clearly and thoroughly what works, what does not, and what could be better.
This is a straightforward, high-impact role. You do not need to write code. You need a sharp eye, patience, and the ability to describe a problem clearly enough that our team can act on it.
What You Will Do • Work through the software feature by feature and screen by screen as an end user. • Identify and report errors, bugs, crashes, broken flows, and anything that does not behave as expected. • Flag deficiencies in functionality, usability, and overall experience. • Note issues with UI, UX, layout, responsiveness, and visual polish. • Suggest practical improvements to make the software clearer, faster, and more pleasant to use. • Document each finding clearly, with steps to reproduce, so the team can act on it quickly. • Retest and confirm fixes as updates are released.
Who We Are Looking For We welcome students needing academic credit and recent graduates with strong attention to detail and clear communication. • A careful, methodical approach and a genuine eye for detail. • Clear written English and the ability to describe a problem simply and precisely. • Comfort working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment. • Curiosity about software, product quality, and user experience. • Reliability and consistent weekly contribution. No prior testing or coding experience is required. What matters is diligence, clarity, and a habit of noticing the things other people miss.
What You Will Gain • Hands-on experience in software quality assurance and product testing. • Direct exposure to how modern software products are built and refined. • Weekly mentorship and feedback. • A completion certificate and a reference letter upon successful completion. • A portfolio of real testing work you can point to.
How to Apply Apply directly via LinkedIn with your resume (PDF). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Thank you for your interest in helping us build better software.
Please Note This is a voluntary, unpaid internship offered strictly for educational and professional development purposes. It is designed for students eligible to receive academic credit through their institution, and for recent graduates seeking hands-on experience and mentorship. Applicants pursuing academic credit are encouraged to confirm eligibility with their school's internship or co-op office, and to have any required placement documentation ready. This opportunity does not constitute employment, and no wages, salary, or compensation of any kind are offered or implied.
