On behalf of our IT client, Procom is searching for a Remote - Oracle Database Administrator - Senior for an 8-month role. This position is a remote position with the candidate required to reside in Ontario due to OPS policy.
Remote - Oracle Database Administrator - Senior - Job Description:
This project involves transitioning Solaris-impacted application databases off Solaris infrastructure onto supported infrastructure, upgrading to the latest version of Oracle database software where applicable, and decommissioning out-of-support Solaris infrastructure. It is a time-sensitive, high-priority stream within the FY26/27 operating plan deliverables.
Remote - Oracle Database Administrator - Senior - Responsibilities:
Create and implement physical database designs and administer the DBMS. Perform database optimization, capacity planning, installation, and migration. Maintain and monitor Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c databases in large multi-tenant environments. Design, build, and configure Oracle Database Servers on various operating systems. Ensure databases meet performance requirements and are secure. Lead and design solutions for enterprise Oracle migration projects. Provide expert support and guidance for production database systems.
Remote - Oracle Database Administrator - Senior - Mandatory Skills:
10+ years of hands-on experience. Experience with database optimization, capacity planning, installation, and migration. Experience maintaining and monitoring Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c databases. Experience migrating end-of-life Oracle databases to the latest supported versions. Experience ensuring deployed databases are secure. Experience with database design and performance tuning. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Remote - Oracle Database Administrator - Senior – Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with distributed data systems. Experience with middleware and gateways. Experience researching and implementing cybersecurity vulnerability remediations. Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions. Experience with Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
Remote - Oracle Database Administrator - Senior – Assignment Length:
This is an 8-month contract position.
