SharePoint & Microsoft 365 (AI Enablement) Specialist - Contract

The SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Specialist is a hands-on contract role focused on optimizing and embedding SharePoint within the Corporate Communications environment, while advancing the organization's use of AI and Microsoft Copilot. This role will play a key part in improving how tools are structured, integrated, and used-supporting the rollout of AI capabilities (including Copilot and an internal AI bot) and piloting practical use cases that enhance day-to-day operations. With limited IT support, the Specialist is expected to work independently, bringing strong technical execution skills and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  1. SharePoint & Teams Integration (Primary Focus)

Lead hands-on enhancements to the SharePoint environment, with a focus on usability and structure Embed SharePoint effectively within the Microsoft Teams environment Improve content organization, accessibility, and overall user experience Ensure SharePoint supports the needs of Corporate Communications workflows

  1. AI & Copilot Enablement

Support adoption and optimization of Microsoft Copilot (approx. 400 licenses) Help shape and improve the flow and effectiveness of AI tools across the team Contribute to the development and integration of an internal AI bot Pilot and implement practical AI use cases to improve productivity (e.g., content drafting, summaries, automation) Help segment and organize AI and technology solutions for clearer usage and governance

  1. Microsoft 365 Optimization

Assess and improve how SharePoint, Teams, and related M365 tools are currently used Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort Enhance integration across tools to create a more cohesive digital workspace Focus on practical, tactical improvements rather than theoretical design

  1. Solution Delivery & Execution

Translate business needs into tangible, working solutions Deliver quick wins while contributing to longer-term improvements Work independently with minimal reliance on IT support Provide clear, practical examples of implemented solutions and approaches

  1. Team Support & Enablement

Support a Corporate Communications team (~12 members) and related stakeholders (~10 additional users) Improve team self-sufficiency in using SharePoint, Teams, and AI tools Provide informal guidance and knowledge sharing (less formal training, more hands-on support)

Candidate Profile

Must-Have Skills & Experience

Strong, hands-on experience with SharePoint (core requirement) Proven ability to build, configure, and optimize SharePoint solutions Experience working with Microsoft Teams integration Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and/or AI tools in a business setting Ability to independently execute tasks in a low-support environment Strong practical and tactical problem-solving skills Profile The successful candidate is a highly hands-on SharePoint expert who can independently design and implement practical solutions, particularly within Teams-integrated environments, with minimal IT support. They are AI-adaptive, comfortable working with tools like Copilot, and bring a strong, execution-focused mindset-demonstrating real examples of how they've piloted and scaled technology solutions to improve team efficiency.
