As our SmartSuite product offering continues to grow to meet our customers business needs, we are looking to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are currently seeking a Database Engineer to join our team located at our head office in Kitchener, ON.

Compensation Range: $60k-$100k

Job Responsibilities:

• Write and review SQL queries and stored procedures
• Working with the Database team to improve database development standards
• Identify & Optimize database slow performance such as poor performing queries
• Configure monitoring & alerting
• Assist support teams with incidents or problems at the database level
• Provide level 3/4 after hours On-Call support for escalated cases
• Provide database expertise to the software development teams including performing code reviews.

Qualifications Required:

• Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of T-SQL or ANSI SQL
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud hosting services is an asset.
• University Degree or College Diploma in computer science, information systems/Technology or similar
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with both non-technical and technical personnel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented
• Position may require travel (approximately 5-10%).
