PAY RANGE The Target Pay Range for this position is $141,800.00-$173,300.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $110,100.00 - $204,900.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role. You’ll lead development efforts, shape architecture decisions, and mentor teammates, helping drive technical excellence while solving meaningful business problems through Pega based workflow and case management solutions To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Lead Development Efforts: Guide small to mid-sized engineering teams in building, testing, and delivering high-quality software solutions on the PEGA platform. Design and Build Scalable Systems: Develop and maintain highly available services, including complex, multi-tier applications on the PEGA platform, enabling end to end workflows, advanced business rules and seamless API integration. Create Innovative Solutions: Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to explore new ideas and technologies, by effectively leveraging PEGA capabilities, including Pega “Blueprint” AI features. Drive Code Quality: Promote best practices through code reviews, testing, and adherence to coding standards. Architect Technical Solutions: Partner with architects and product owners to define system design, technical roadmaps, and long-term vision. Solve Complex Problems: Analyze, design, code, test, and debug sophisticated systems across the full software lifecycle. Improve Systems: Identify opportunities for enhancements, including modernization and performance optimization of PEGA applications. Automate and Optimize Processes: Lead efforts to streamline and automate business and engineering workflows. Mentor and Grow Talent: Support junior developers and SDETs through coaching, reviews, and knowledge sharing. Communication and Influence: Present technical concepts and solutions clearly to engineering teams and leadership. Data and Integration management - Work with enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB) and front-end integrations (React/Angular) supporting PEGA solutions. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Minimum five years of experience designing software and writing production code in a team environment with hands-on expertise in Pega for building workflow and case management solutions. Experience in Secure Development best practices, demonstrated by regular use of static code analysis tools to explain and correct secure coding flaws. Demonstrated experience delivering highly scalable solutions in multiple programming languages and technical environments over the entire product lifecycle (from ideation to retirement). Knowledge of Open Source (OSS) technologies and libraries. Experience with public cloud (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud) technologies. Experience in one of the following domains: server-side web dev, modern client-side web dev, REST/web services, large scale data analytics using Machine Learning frameworks, networking, and service mesh. Expertise with SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming and Design. Experience with SOA patterns and distributed systems design. Expertise with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems and tools such as Azure DevOps Services, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity. Proficiency at building build / deployment pipelines in PEGA. Deep expertise in Test Driven Development concepts, methods, and tools. Demonstrated experience in unit testing, integration testing or performance/load testing. Experience using Git including performing code reviews, pull requests, and following branching standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development. Experience presenting in front of technically adept audiences. Desired Qualifications PEGA CSA (Certified System Architects) certification Proven ability to stay current with emerging technologies and new applications of existing technologies, through work or continuing industry or education involvement. Proven experience leading and collaborating within teams, including business unit teams, to deliver solutions through all aspects of the SDLC. System administration and automation with PowerShell or bash. Demonstrated expertise with one of the following: .NET, C#, node.js and modern JavaScript Frameworks in TypeScript or JavaScript (React, Angular, etc.), or Python. Working knowledge of containers and container orchestration in Kubernetes. Experience with SQL, large datasets, data warehousing and sophisticated ETL processes, analytics engines. Knowledge of cloud-hosted SQL-based datastores, and NoSQL systems.
