Position Summary This role is ideal for an individual passionate about leveraging technology to drive customer success and improved security within a collaborative, customer-centric culture at IX Solutions. The Senior Consultant, Modern Security will deliver proactive and reactive security and endpoint management services to clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and fostering strong client relationships. This role involves remote and onsite implementations and support.

The Senior Consultant, Modern Security collaborates with client stakeholders, other technical consultants, Client Leads and Account Executives to deliver proposed technical solutions and services the “IX Solutions” way. The position works to improve consistency in security alignment, security services deployments, application patching, and helping our clients adopt a “cloud-first” model.

The position reports to the Manager, Service Delivery. The position works 40 hours per week, with business hours being 8:00am to 5:00pm MT/PT, Monday to Friday. There are occasional requirements for after-hours work including time sensitive client requests and project work. Balancing multiple priorities with deadlines is a requirement.

What You’ll Do Here Provide consulting and technical guidance, coaching, and support to team members and clients. Serve as the subject matter expert for technologies within the Security team's technical purview. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client requirements and project objectives. Deliver IT support, project planning (including the development of statements of work & work breakdown structures), and technical delivery of managed services to a broad range of clients. Plan and execute transition of endpoint management from traditional solutions such as SCCM to Intune including Autopilot, Windows Update for Business, and Entra-joined workstations. Plan and deploy Microsoft security products such as Defender, Sentinel, and Entra ID to protect against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Conduct Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management review workshops with clients. Assist or lead projects from initial assessment, solutioning, design, and implementation. Conduct security assessments and provide recommendations. Provide training and guidance to clients on information security standards, policies, and best practices within the Microsoft ecosystem. Deliver recurring security services and monthly reporting to clients. Maintain documentation related to IXS security practices, client support and delivery processes. Act as an escalation point for other teams, including participating in incident response and resolutions. Onsite support, as required. Qualifications/Expertise Minimum 5 years of IT consulting experience (or customer service-centric experience). Experience with Intune best practices, such as Autopilot, device enrollment, endpoint security, application packaging and update management. Experience with the Microsoft Defender suite. Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, both deployment and threat hunting. Experience with Microsoft Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, Identity Protection and MFA, both deployment and best practices. Experience with Azure monitoring tools, such as Log Analytics, Logic Apps and Azure Monitor. Knowledge of KQL is an asset. Experience designing and implementing Role Based Access Control models. Experience with Apple Business Manager, Patch My PC, cloud printing (Printix, Universal Print), and security awareness training. Practical and technical experience with Mobile Device Management or Mobile Application Management. Working knowledge of Enterprise Apps & SAML SSO Functionality. Working knowledge of Entra Connect Sync and Entra Cloud Sync. Understanding of least privilege and zero trust concepts. Understanding of networking concepts. Previous focus on continuing education and training is a must. Certifications and Learning (achieved or willing to work towards) SC-500 (AZ-500): Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate. SC-100: Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert. SC-200: Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate. SC-300: Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate. MD-102: Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate. MS-102: Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert. AZ-104: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. AZ-802 (800/801): Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate. Accountabilities, Tasks and Duties Client Relationships Understand and interpret customer needs so we can provide excellent service levels. Develop strong and lasting customer relationships with key clients. Assist with the development of proposals and pre-sales exercises, including the presentation of technologies and solution proposals to clients and prospective clients. Clearly and regularly communicate with Client Experience Team and Account Executives. Work independently and with the Project Delivery Team. Promptly respond to technical escalations from Client Experience team and other technical teams. Pass certification exams and complete training as appropriate to demonstrate skillset to clients and foster strong vendor relationships. Stay current with the latest technology trends, vulnerabilities and releases. Maintain team-owned best practices and standards and communicate them to other teams. Develop, document, and maintain processes and procedures related to project delivery & managed services. Team Communicate in an open, helpful manner and build relationships across the organization. Ability to work with a range of technical staff and cross-functional teams to develop joint solutions. Foster a collaborative work environment and culture. Challenge the status quo. Other duties as required, such as the timely completion of expense reports and timesheets. Ability to travel occasionally for business purposes. Requirements Must be legally permitted to work in Canada. Hold a valid Driver’s License and vehicle. Proficient English (written/verbal) communication in a business setting. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients.
