About the role

Job Title: Controls SCADA Designer Location: Cambridge, ON | On-site Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $37.00 - $50.00 Benefits: RRSP, health/dental/vision package, reimbursement for tuition and professional dues, paid vacation, personal days, and sick days. The Position The Controls SCADA Designer will contribute to data systems architecture development, integration of Server based systems to support Automation Projects, be involved with continuous improvement of Specification templates and processes, system setup documentation, user and training manuals. The incumbent will also work on programming and integration assignments utilizing PC based Server Systems and data related applications while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture. What You'll Do Here: Design and develop/configure software programs (PC based) specific to customer and project requirements based on standard Eclipse programming methods Debug and commission systems at our facility during the system integration stage and then again at the customer sited during installation Travel as required to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning and training duties Select, test and integrate hardware and software components such as Servers, Hypervisor, VPN devices, Ethernet managed switches, Virtual Machines, customer data system interfaces, security interfaces to cloud systems and edge systems Develop requirements specifications, acceptance test plans and design documents Must have a good understanding of change control and configuration management Thoroughly test functionality of interactions between controls and SCADA systems Provide accurate documentation for each project Advise customers on solving technical problems Support Applications dept. in pre-quote and pre-automation activities Design, implement, test and deliver automation solutions with a focus on: Computer Software applications Data harvest, processing, visualization, streaming and storage SQL (schemas, stored procedures, etc.) Big Data, machine learning interfacing IIoT, PC based HMI/SCADA Support PLC controls resources Project Execution: Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work within a team environment and actively participate in group meetings Complete other duties and projects as assigned Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required in varying timelines Ensure scheduled milestones are met Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not projected to be met by expected due dates Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse Corporate Vision Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business Travel: Expectation of travel to vendor/supplier locations is less than 30% of time, however, may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs What We're Looking For: Education A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in computer science, electrical, systems or computer engineering. Comprehensive English skills, both verbal and written. Experience & Skills: 7+ years of experience in data systems, ERP, MES, SCADA, security, server systems, cloud-based systems, and Web Design in the automation industry Experience with Ignition, Aveva, and integration with MES/ERP systems Experience in PLC and HMI/SCADA programming (Ignition & Aveva preferred). Must have experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, and Web Design Knowledge of network architecture and configuration.
