We are looking for a Billing Services Analyst to join our Billing Services team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for delivering back-office billing services for our utility customers, along with supporting Customer Information System (CIS) implementation and enhancement projects.
Position Summary This role supports the day-to-day operation of the meter-to-cash lifecycle by ensuring billing accuracy, maintaining customer and billing data, resolving operational issues, and identifying opportunities to improve business processes. In addition to ongoing managed billing services, the Billing Services Analyst supports Customer Information System (CIS) implementation and enhancement projects by providing operational expertise throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Back-Office Billing Services Deliver accurate, timely, and reliable back-office billing services for utility customers. Configure and maintain billing system settings, rate schedules, customer information, and service configurations within the CIS. Process customer account transactions, billing adjustments, and other operational requests. Validate billing data, investigate exceptions, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve billing and meter data issues. Troubleshoot billing system, interface, and integration issues affecting daily operations. Develop and maintain operational procedures, documentation, and training materials. Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance service delivery. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry standards. Other billing services activities as required
CIS Implementation Support Support Customer Information System (CIS) implementation and enhancement projects. Participate in business analysis, solution configuration, testing, and customer training activities. Assist with reporting, dashboards, bill templates, and forms. Support mock cutovers, production cutovers, and post-implementation stabilization and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure successful project delivery and knowledge transfer. Other CIS implementation activities as required
Qualifications Required College diploma or university degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Two to five years of experience in utility billing, Customer Information Systems (CIS), utility operations, or managed services. Strong understanding of utility billing processes and the meter-to-cash lifecycle. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent technical writing skills.
Preferred Experience with utility CIS platforms such as SpryPoint, NorthStar, Oracle Utilities CC&B, SAP IS-U, or similar solutions. Experience with SQL, data analysis, or reporting tools. Experience supporting utility software implementations. Knowledge of electric and/or water utility operations.
