This role

As our Group Engineering Manager, you’ll be working with our Global Engineering Leadership and will be instrumental in scaling and evolving our platform to deliver even greater impact to businesses across Canada and beyond.

Your key focus areas will be:

  • Elite Engineering Execution: Overseeing a high-performing cohort of Engineering Managers and Engineers across our HR and Payroll domains to ensure our Canadian roadmap becomes a reality.
  • Agentic Development Pioneer: Leading our mission to integrate Agentic development tools, fundamentally changing how we build software to achieve unprecedented speed and quality.
  • Regional Technical Leadership: Acting as the primary technical point of contact for the Canada region, translating complex engineering challenges into clear business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Platform Performance & Reliability: Strategic oversight of platform uptime, resilience, and scalability within the Canadian timezone.

This will include:

  • Mentoring and inspiring Engineering Managers, providing clarity of vision and enabling continuous improvement.
  • Partnering hand-in-hand with Product Leaders to ensure engineering effort perfectly mirrors regional strategy.
  • Building trusted relationships with business stakeholders, championing software engineering excellence across the organization.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to efficiency, quality, and delivery processes.
  • Navigating the complexities of a regional team within a global organization, aligning with global counterparts, tooling, and processes.

Who you are

To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you’ll also bring:

  • 8+ years in engineering, with significant experience leading other managers in a fast-moving, high-growth SaaS environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex, multi-domain projects on time and to a high standard.
  • A genuine passion for the next frontier of software—specifically Agentic workflows and AI-assisted development.
  • Experience in driving high-performance teams and alignment to an execution-focused culture.
  • The ability to navigate a global organization while maintaining regional focus (experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments is preferred).
