Description
Responsibilities
Provided comprehensive I&IT Business Analysis services to support diverse business and technology requirements. Engaged with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams to understand, analyze, and document business needs. Led business analysis activities to identify business problems, opportunities, and define effective I&IT solutions. Developed and maintained business analysis processes, standards, policies, and best practices to ensure consistency. Conducted requirements gathering using JAD sessions, interviews, workshops, observations, and stakeholder discussions. Prepared business cases, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and strategic recommendations for business initiatives. Created and maintained business requirements documentation, process models, use cases, business rules, and functional specifications. Performed business process analysis, workflow modeling, data analysis, and requirements validation. Developed requirements traceability matrices, performance measures, and evaluation reports. Monitored project activities, managed issues, and provided regular updates to project managers and stakeholders. Supported solution design, testing activities, implementation planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
General Skills
Strong experience leading and conducting business analysis for complex I&IT projects. Ability to assess business needs and translate requirements into effective technology solutions. Skilled in business process re-engineering and identifying opportunities for operational improvements. Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, Object-Oriented, and structured development methodologies. Proficient in requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. Experience developing business strategies, business cases, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses. Strong knowledge of business modeling, use case modeling, process mapping, data flow modeling, and conceptual/logical data modeling. Ability to create clear documentation including presentations, reports, briefing notes, and functional specifications. Experience using CASE tools and business analysis tools for requirements documentation and modeling. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and deliver projects within deadlines. Knowledge of emerging I&IT trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
Desirable Skills
Experience with information retrieval tools and information management practices. Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, standards, and governance frameworks. Ability to translate business and data requirements into technical specifications for solution development. Experience with business functional modeling, business event modeling, business process mapping, and workflow analysis. Experience applying Agile methodologies, user stories, acceptance criteria, and iterative delivery approaches. Experience developing performance metrics and conducting business analysis assessments. Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements and accessibility standards. Experience supporting enterprise-level I&IT initiatives and large-scale transformation projects.
