About the role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Network and system administration/administrator. Work setting: Telecommunications industry. Telecommunications service provider. Internet Service Provider (ISP). Information technology (IT) infrastructure. Tasks: Coordinate access and use of computer networks. Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks. Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Provide problem-solving services to network users. Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Supervision: No supervision responsibility.
