About the role

YuJa is seeking a passionate, highly knowledgeable Digital Accessibility Specialist to join our energetic and creative team. The ideal candidate will ensure our products and services meet ADA, Section 508, and WCAG standards, fostering inclusivity for all users, and represent us in all webinar and conference initiatives. This role requires in-depth knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance regulations, with a focus on auditing and reporting.

About the Role

  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits on websites, web applications, desktop applications, mobile applications, and digital content to ensure compliance with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG (2.0/2.1) standards.

  • Create detailed audit reports (Example - VPAT), including actionable recommendations to address accessibility barriers.

  • Ensure adherence to accessibility laws and regulations.

  • Maintain a robust understanding of emerging accessibility trends and updates to relevant standards.

  • Provide expert guidance on accessibility best practices to internal teams as needed.

  • Assess and validate fixes made to address previously identified accessibility issues.

  • Present on-camera during webinars and in-person during live events, answer attendee questions, and produce accessibility related content for on-demand recordings for the company website.

About You

  • Strong expertise in accessibility standards and guidelines, including ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA, and the Accessible Canada Act (ACA).

  • Experience in HTML and making HTML accessible through use of ARIA attributes.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting accessibility testing using tools such as Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely.

  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and how they interact with digital platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Prior marketing or sales experience is a plus.

Educational Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, or Digital Accessibility, or related academic stream with up to 1-3 years of relevant experience; courses in Accessibility domain are preferred.

Schedule:

This is an office-based role with standard hours from Monday to Friday.
