We’re seeking an experienced Data Governance Engineer to join us, establishing enterprise-grade governance across a modern, multi-platform data ecosystem.
What You'll Be Doing Design and implement governance frameworks using Unity Catalog, including metadata management, data classification, and policy enforcement across the Databricks lakehouse. Integrate Snowflake's Horizon catalog and the Elation standalone platform into the broader governance model, ensuring consistent policies across platforms. Configure and maintain role-based access control (RBAC) across datasets, schemas, and compute resources in a multi-platform environment. Implement row-level and column-level security to enforce fine-grained access controls aligned with business and regulatory requirements. Build PII masking and data anonymization workflows to support privacy compliance across all platforms. Define and maintain end-to-end data lineage tracking to provide visibility into data origin, transformations, and consumption. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and security teams to align governance practices with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and SOC 2.
What We’re Looking For 3–5+ years in data governance, data engineering, or data platform roles with a focus on access control and compliance. Deep, hands-on experience configuring Databricks Unity Catalog for enterprise governance, including metastore setup and policy management. Familiarity with Snowflake's Horizon data catalog and ability to align governance policies across Snowflake and Databricks environments. Experience integrating governance across heterogeneous platforms, including custom or standalone data systems like Elation. Deep understanding of RBAC and fine-grained security patterns (row/column-level) in modern data platforms. Familiarity with PII handling, data masking techniques, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, or similar). Experience with lineage tools or built-in platform capabilities to track and visualize data flows end-to-end.

Salary Salary range: CA$110,000 - CA$192,000 annually, with final compensation determined by your qualifications, expertise, experience, and the role's scope.
Location: This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be based in regions that align with the Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.

Position Details This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
