Test Lead / Quality Assurance Lead Professional Summary

Results-driven Test Lead / Quality Assurance Lead with over 15 years of experience in Manual Testing, Quality Assurance, Test Management, and end-to-end Software Delivery. Extensive experience in the Health Insurance domain, including complex business workflows related to policy administration, claims processing, member services, provider processes, and regulatory requirements.

Canadian Citizen with active Protected B security status. Proven ability to lead QA teams, manage end-to-end testing activities, prepare test estimates, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and present quality metrics and release-readiness assessments to senior management.

Skilled in Mobile Testing, Accessibility Testing, defect management, test reporting, risk management, and quality governance. Experienced in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage QA teams across multiple projects, releases, and Agile/Scrum delivery streams. Define and implement test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution schedules. Review business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure complete and traceable test coverage. Prepare testing effort estimates, resource plans, test schedules, dependency assessments, and risk mitigation plans. Coordinate Manual Testing activities, including Functional Testing, System Testing, System Integration Testing, Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Production Validation. Lead Mobile Testing for iOS and Android applications, including device compatibility, functional testing, usability testing, responsive design testing, and cross-browser validation. Conduct Accessibility Testing in accordance with WCAG standards, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, color contrast, form accessibility, semantic structure, and usability requirements. Manage defects using ALM and Jira, including defect logging, triage, prioritization, tracking, validation, retesting, and closure. Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve quality issues. Facilitate defect triage meetings and communicate critical defects, testing risks, blockers, release readiness, and quality concerns. Prepare daily, weekly, and executive-level QA reports covering test progress, test coverage, defect status, risks, blockers, quality metrics, and release recommendations. Present QA status, testing metrics, and quality dashboards to senior management and project leadership. Ensure compliance with Health Insurance business rules, privacy requirements, data protection standards, and Protected B information-handling practices. Mentor junior QA analysts and provide guidance on testing best practices, defect documentation, test design, and quality processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes, test documentation, reporting, defect management, and release governance. Required Skills and Qualifications 15+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Manual Testing. Strong experience in the Health Insurance domain. Canadian Citizen with active Protected B security status. Strong expertise in: Manual Functional Testing System Testing System Integration Testing Regression Testing User Acceptance Testing Mobile Testing Accessibility Testing Test Planning and Test Estimation Test Case Design and Test Execution Defect Management QA Reporting and Metrics Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management Hands-on experience with ALM / Application Lifecycle Management and Jira for test management and defect tracking. Ability to prepare detailed test reports and communicate quality status clearly to senior leadership. Strong analytical, communication, documentation, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery environments. Ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines, release dependencies, and complex testing risks. Preferred Qualifications ISTQB Certification or equivalent QA certification. Experience with healthcare applications, insurance policy administration systems, claims systems, member portals, provider portals, or digital health platforms. Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards. Experience with Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar tools. Experience working with Canadian government, healthcare, insurance, or Protected B environments.
