Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, AC Online Studio, in AC Online, the incumbent provides guidance and support in the analysis, design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of digital media for use in new and existing programs in the College. The incumbent provides expertise in the areas of graphic design, video editing, animations, web programming, and the development and support of content for digital and mobile learning environments. The incumbent utilizes and supports a wide range of educational technologies and systems to provide efficient services to AC Online. The incumbent provides guidance in the visual analysis and design of courses and applications, providing leadership in regards to graphical user interface, embedded media, usability, mobile functionality, and accessibility. The role includes working with the Studio team and other departments to introduce new educational technologies and eLearning applications to the College. The incumbent provides guidance in advising and supporting the Studio team on the effective use of educational technology tools to develop engaging learning content and integrate it in the curriculum to enhance the student learning experience. The incumbent supports the Academic Managers, Project Managers, and Instructional Designers including, but not limited to, participating in design meetings, using and integrating digital media in new and existing programs, researching and implementing new technologies, creating and testing prototypes, as well as creating best practices on the use of educational technologies in digital learning environments. The incumbent develops graphics for web through the use of illustration and photography. The incumbent also provides leadership on the use of third party media, Creative Commons’ licenses, open educational resources, and stock media. The role works with the team to design, develop, and implement video based media, using prototypes, storyboards, and finally appropriate technology to create accessible relevant digital learning environments. Required Qualifications: Minimum two (2) year diploma or equivalent in Multimedia Design or a relevant field is preferred; Minimum of three (3) years’ of progressive experience in multimedia development including experience in the field of Instructional Design and Educational Technology; Current experience with the latest Media Design Products, Rapid Development Tools, eLearning products and Learning Management Systems; Experience in development and support of accessible web based media; Experience in delivering technology training and supporting the integration of technology within curriculum delivery; Experience in development and support of web, multimedia, and marketing. * This position is paid at Payband G * Vacancy is for P13076 This position is eligible for hybrid work in conjunction with the College's Flexible Work Arrangement Policy. https://www.algonquincollege.com/policies/hr26/ (subject to change).
