Job Title: AIX & Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 06-12 Months
Rate range: CAD 70 - CAD 75
Role Summary:
The AIX & Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining client AIX 7.2 environments, enterprise scheduling tools (Dollar Universe), configuration/change management platforms (CA Harvest), and core infrastructure services. This role also requires strong mainframe-oriented skills including COBOL, CICS, and JCL, enabling effective support of legacy and hybrid systems. The specialist will work closely with application teams, operations, and architecture groups to ensure system stability, performance, and availability.
Dollar Universe Scheduling
Administer Dollar Universe scheduling across multiple environments
Create, modify, and troubleshoot jobs, workflows, and dependencies
Monitor job execution and resolve scheduling conflicts or failures
Work with application teams to onboard new jobs and optimize scheduling logic
CA Harvest
Support CA Harvest lifecycle management
Manage version control, package promotion, and deployment workflows
Troubleshoot repository, agent, and environment issues
Ensure compliance with release and change management processes
Mainframe & Legacy Application Support
Work with COBOL applications including debugging and enhancements
Support CICS transaction environments
Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing
Assist with integration between distributed and mainframe systems
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience with AIX 7.x administration
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux fundamentals
Hands?on experience with Dollar Universe
Experience with CA Harvest.
Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, and JCL
Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem)
Experience supporting production environments in large enterprises
