About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Production Support Specialist to join a high-performing technology team supporting mission-critical payment and banking applications. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of production systems while leading incident resolution, supporting production changes, and driving continuous service improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for a production support professional with strong IBM Mainframe expertise who thrives in a fast-paced, enterprise environment supporting business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities Monitor and support mission-critical production applications and services. Lead incident investigations and coordinate service restoration during production outages. Analyze system issues, identify root causes, and implement immediate and long-term solutions. Communicate service impacts, recovery progress, and resolution updates to technical and business stakeholders. Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, middleware, and support teams to resolve production issues. Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles. Support production deployments, release activities, disaster recovery testing, patching, and system maintenance. Ensure compliance with change management, release management, and operational procedures. Participate in an on-call rotation and provide support outside standard business hours as required.

Required Qualifications 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in application production support, production operations, or service management. Strong experience supporting IBM Mainframe environments. Hands-on expertise with: COBOL CICS DB2 IBM MQ Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) SPUFI Strong understanding of incident, problem, change, and release management processes. Experience troubleshooting complex production issues in high-availability enterprise environments. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across global technical teams. Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities. Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude.

Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Corporate Banking or Payments platforms. Knowledge of banking payment systems and financial services applications. Experience with SQL, Java/J2EE, Unix/Linux, Oracle, WebSphere, or other open systems technologies. Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Geneos. Basic networking knowledge. ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience.
