About the role

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Manager, Enterprise Architecture to lead and govern enterprise architecture services for a complex, highly regulated organization. This role is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and oversight to a team of IT architects, ensuring architecture standards, roadmaps, frameworks, and technology solutions align with business objectives, IT strategy, digital transformation priorities, and operational requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and service providers to guide the development and implementation of scalable, secure, interoperable, and innovative enterprise technology solutions.

Responsibilities: Lead and manage an enterprise architecture team, including hardware, software, cloud, and other architecture specialists. Provide strategic direction, guidance, and oversight to ensure architecture activities align with business goals, IT strategy, and digital transformation initiatives. Develop, maintain, communicate, and govern enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, guidelines, principles, models, and roadmaps. Provide thought leadership and recommendations to senior management and executives on strategic technology planning and enterprise architecture priorities. Collaborate with business leaders and technology stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for innovation, and propose architecture solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency. Oversee the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture strategy and ensure alignment with overall IT planning and organizational priorities. Review and approve architecture designs and solution recommendations, providing feedback, direction, and governance as required. Conduct regular assessments of the organization’s IT architecture to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Guide the development and governance of architecture principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency, interoperability, scalability, and security across enterprise systems. Foster collaboration between architecture, business, technology, project delivery, and operations teams to support successful delivery of IT initiatives. Provide clear assessments and recommendations that connect enterprise architecture mandates to business value, operational performance, and continuous improvement. Prepare technology-related reports, memos, guidelines, presentations, recommendations, and other documentation to support corporate decision-making. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and service providers to leverage external expertise and emerging technologies. Support executive and CIO-level decision-making by providing detailed technical, strategic, and financial input related to technology investments. Manage department and project-related budgets, including supporting financial analysis and decision-making for architecture-related initiatives. Lead process improvement activities to improve enterprise architecture capability, service quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Provide coaching, mentoring, performance guidance, and professional development support to architecture team members and junior staff. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, architecture frameworks, and best practices in enterprise architecture and IT management.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is considered an asset. 10+ years of experience in Information Technology. Extensive experience in a senior-level IT architecture role with a strong background in enterprise architecture and IT management. Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of IT architects, including providing coaching, guidance, mentorship, and performance support. Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar frameworks. Relevant industry certifications such as TOGAF Certified, Certified Enterprise Architect, or equivalent are considered an asset. Strong understanding of business processes, systems integration, enterprise platforms, and technology governance. Experience with emerging technologies including cloud computing, APIs, microservices, and digital platforms. Proven ability to develop and govern enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps, standards, principles, and architectural guidelines. Experience reviewing and approving architecture designs, solution blueprints, technical recommendations, and enterprise technology decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership. Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and changing environment. Experience working in complex, regulated, or highly structured environments is considered an asset. Ability to manage competing priorities, support change, and drive continuous improvement across enterprise architecture functions.
