Why is this role important?
The Manager leads CIHI’s Data Request Services program, providing strategic and operational leadership and oversight of the enterprise alignment of relevant policies, procedures, and tooling across CIHI. This role leads multidisciplinary teams, designs and operationalizes data quality frameworks and standards, partners with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures CIHI practices meet privacy, governance and interoperability objectives.
What you'll do

Lead and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team, promote a culture of accountability, innovation, learning, continuous improvement and service excellence through coaching and providing/soliciting effective performance feedback.

Provide strategic planning and day to day management for assigned portfolio(s), ensuring alignment with assigned budget, branch objectives, and corporate priorities.

Leads the operations and enhancement of CIHI's Corporate Data Request Program and Secure Access Environment (SAE) and the support of its users.

Build and maintain relationships with provincial/territorial partners, vendors, academic and standards bodies; lead consultations, education, and knowledge exchange to increase adoption and use of standards and quality tools.

Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for technical and non- technical audiences; represent CIHI externally at committees and conferences.

Collaborate with Privacy, ITS and Data Governance teams to ensure policies, procedures and approaches align with privacy, disclosure control and data stewardship principles (including Indigenous data considerations).

Contribute to branch and corporate planning, performance measurement and evaluation of product impact; identify opportunities to align analytic work with strategic priorities.
What you'll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in Health Information, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Business, Information Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience in health data management, standards development, information quality, including at least 3 years’ demonstrated people leadership experience.
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project/Gantt), documentation/version control and reporting platforms.
• •Familiarity with data quality methodologies, sampling, validation techniques and disclosure control best practices.
- Working knowledge of data and analytic tools (SAS, R, Python, SQL) and data visualization/BI tools is an asset.
- Understanding of interoperability concepts, metadata management and master/reference data practices.

- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to translate technical topics for diverse audiences
