About Us:
Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Remote Intermediate Data modeler for our client.
________________________________________

Position Summary:
The Intermediate Data modeler will provide operational data modelling support to Hub data assets and data processing pipelines, focusing on logical and physical data models maintenance. Create DDL’s and scripts to deploy schemas and tables across different accounts. Collaborate with the product delivery team to update existing data models.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Modeling & Design

• Develop, maintain, and enhance logical and physical data models for Hub data assets

• Apply data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices

• Use formal modeling techniques such as UML and ER diagrams

• Ensure models align with business requirements and data governance principles

2. Data Pipeline & Asset Support

• Provide ongoing operational support for data assets and data processing pipelines

• Ensure data structures support efficient ingestion, transformation, and analytics workflows

3. Schema Development & Deployment

• Create and maintain DDL scripts for schemas and tables

• Deploy database objects across multiple environments/accounts

• Support versioning and automation through CI/CD pipelines

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with product delivery teams to update and refine data models

• Translate business needs into scalable data structures

• Participate in discussions to improve data architecture and integration

5. Tooling & Documentation

• Use data modeling tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Erwin, PowerDesigner)

• Maintain clear documentation of data models, definitions, and relationships

• Ensure consistency across models and environments

6. Data Management & Governance

• Support reference and master data management practices

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems

7. Cloud & Database Support

• Work with AWS data services (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Aurora)
• Support various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, Hive, NoSQL)
• Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability

Required Qualifications:

• Data architecture experience including standards, concepts, patterns, best practices and methodologies.

• Logical & Physical Data Modelling experience

• Formal Modelling Notations (e.g. UML, ER,)

• Experience working with Data Modelling tools such as SPARX Enterprise Architect or equivalent (e.g. Erwin, PowerDesigner)

• General understanding of Reference and Master Data

• Knowledge of CI/CD

• General knowledge of AWS data storage and analytics services (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Aurora)

• General knowledge of databases (Oracle, Hive, NoSQL, PostgreSQL)

Compensation:
Salary Range: $46.00 – $73.00 per hour
