AWS Cloud Specialist Engineer Toronto, ON-Hybrid (2 days per week in-person at Toronto office preferred) Long Time Contract

Must Have Digital : Cloud Security Management~Digital : Python~Digital : Amazon Web Service(AWS) Cloud Computing Years’ Experience: 8-10 Role Descriptions: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Specialist to design, develop, and manage scalable cloud-based applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS services, infrastructure as code, backend development, and system design, along with solid knowledge of databases, networking, and security practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills Python / Java / JavaScript / TypeScript Hands-on experience with: AWS Lambda Amazon Elastic Container Services Amazon RedShift Data Services Amazon Redshift AWS Queue Message Services, AWS Notification Services, Event Bridge (Schedulers) Infrastructure as Code expertise with: AWS CDK CDK for Terraform (CDKTF) Proficiency in SQL and database management Strong understanding of: System Design Application Architecture Distributed systems Knowledge of: Networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls) Cryptography and data security principles Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of container orchestration and Docker Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer Associate) are a plus Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and in team environments Ownership mindset with attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS services Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using Lambda, ECS, and event-driven architectures Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK and CDKTF Design and optimize data platforms using Amazon Redshift and RDS Develop serverless workflows leveraging SQS, SNS, and EventBridge (Schedulers) Contribute to system design and application architecture ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance Build and maintain APIs and backend services using Python, TypeScript, Java, or JavaScript Handle database design, transaction management, and administration Write efficient and optimized SQL queries Ensure security best practices, including cryptography and encryption mechanisms Collaborate with cross-functional teams for solution design and implementation Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and applications Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployments
