This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Telephony & Defender 365 Specialist based in Canada. This role sits at the intersection of modern unified communications and enterprise security, focusing on the transformation of legacy telephony systems into secure, scalable cloud-based solutions. You will play a key role in designing and supporting the migration to cloud telephony platforms while ensuring resilience, compliance, and continuity of critical voice services. In parallel, you will contribute to strengthening Microsoft 365 security posture through Defender for Office 365 and related email protection technologies. The environment is highly collaborative, working closely with architecture, operations, and program leadership teams. You will help define roadmaps that align telephony modernization with broader cloud adoption strategies. This is a hands-on and advisory role with direct impact on enterprise communication reliability and security. \n
Accountabilities: Support the design and implementation of unified communications architectures, contributing to migration plans from on-premises telephony systems to cloud-based solutions. Assist in deployment and transition activities for cloud telephony platforms, ensuring smooth cutover and operational continuity. Provide technical advisory support for defining roadmaps across cloud telephony and Microsoft Defender for Office 365, aligned with industry best practices. Maintain and enhance operational performance of telephony services, including call routing, contact center functionality, compliance recording, and emergency calling capabilities. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues across unified communications and Microsoft 365 environments. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of email security posture using Defender for Office 365 and related protection technologies such as DMARC, DKIM, and SPF. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between telephony solutions, security requirements, and enterprise standards. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in unified communications, including Cisco on-premise platforms such as CUCM, UCCX, and CER. Strong experience with cloud telephony solutions such as Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Microsoft Teams Phone System. 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and related email security technologies, including secure email gateways and authentication standards (DMARC, DKIM, SPF). Solid expertise with Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. Strong understanding of enterprise voice architectures, contact center solutions, and telephony resiliency requirements. Experience supporting migrations from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based environments. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills within complex, distributed communication systems. Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in structured program environments. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
