Thousands of patients depend on us every day for reliable access to safe blood, plasma, stem cells and organs and tissues.  About the role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Analyst - System I to join our dynamic IT Technology Delivery team in Ottawa. The IT Technology Delivery team delivers technology solutions and services that strengthen organizational agility and enable Canadian Blood Services to respond effectively to evolving business needs. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting critical IT deliverables for the Canadian Blood Services Network and Collections Transformation initiatives. You will contribute to the successful deployment and configuration of technology solutions that directly support both plasma and whole blood collection operations. In addition to this work, you will have the opportunity to support a variety of Technology Delivery projects and programs, gaining exposure to diverse systems, stakeholders, and environments across the organization. This is a hands-on, collaborative role suited for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, solving technical challenges, and supporting frontline operations through reliable and efficient technology solutions.   Formula for success

Leveraging your skills in technology deployment and support, you will assist in configuring and deploying IT equipment for the Canadian Blood Services Network and Collections transformation expansion program and other relevant initiatives. Utilizing your expertise in device configuration and testing, you will ensure the smooth operation of IT devices within the system. Harnessing your customer service abilities, you will deliver exceptional support to Plasma and whole blood clinics via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions. Employing your skills in on-site support, you will be available to assist during mobile and permanent collection events whenever necessary. Applying your troubleshooting expertise and Root Cause Analysis skills, you will investigate and resolve customer issues effectively. Collaborating with OS business analysts, programmer/analysts, and IT Services, you will contribute to new system development initiatives alongside OS customers. Sharing your insights into hardware and software standards, system architecture, and industry advancements, you will offer guidance and advice to IT colleagues.

Desired education and skills

Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a related computer science degree or equivalent experience.  Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a related IT role, with demonstrated experience in device deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience in a related IT role is an asset and experience with Microsoft Windows, OS install/imaging and configuration, including Office 365 SharePoint, Excel, Word, MS Access.   Experience on multiple windows hardware platforms Laptops, PC Minis, Tablets and PDAs.  Intermediate knowledge of Networking, TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting and working knowledge of Wi-Fi and Cellular internet technology. Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting ability and excellent customer service skills.  Demonstrated ability to work with customers/users and project team members.

This is a fully onsite role located at 2540 Lancaster Road, Ottawa, Ontario. You may be required occasionally to work shift work to cover the national operational business hours which are 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  This position will require you to travel to sites to provide on-site IT deployment and support with some over-time required on weekends and availability to be on call.
