This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Test Developer based in Canada.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of modern web and mobile applications that directly impact users’ financial wellbeing. You will be embedded within engineering teams, working closely with developers, product managers, and QA peers to design and execute robust automated testing strategies. The environment is highly collaborative and fully remote, with a strong emphasis on quality engineering practices, shift-left testing, and continuous integration. You will contribute to maintaining and evolving a mature automation framework while helping shape testing standards across multiple development pods. Your work will directly influence release stability, user experience, and the overall trustworthiness of production systems. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who cares deeply about automation, precision, and product quality at scale.
Accountabilities
Develop, maintain, and scale automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices across web and mobile applications, including but not limited to:
Extending and enhancing a WebdriverIO-based automation framework using a component-driven Page Object model Designing, writing, and executing automated tests for web and React Native applications (iOS and Android) Performing functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across multiple development pods Integrating automated testing suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable releases Collaborating with developers and product teams to define test strategies and ensure strong feature coverage Debugging issues, analyzing test results, and providing actionable feedback to improve product quality Creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and quality documentation Promoting best practices in automation, scalability, maintainability, and shift-left testing approaches Participating in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, and stand-ups to support delivery alignment
Requirements
5+ years of experience in QA automation, software testing, or software development Strong hands-on experience with WebdriverIO (or equivalent experience with Playwright and ability to transition to WDIO quickly) Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js within test automation or development environments Experience testing React Native applications across iOS and Android platforms using automation frameworks and cloud device testing tools Experience integrating and maintaining automated tests within CI/CD pipelines Strong API testing experience using tools such as Postman, Mocha, Supertest, or similar Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases for validation and debugging purposes Experience working in Agile environments with tools such as Git, GitHub, and Jira Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and debugging/problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and prioritize work in fast-moving environments
