Operating with the flexibility of a freelance practice, the company designs and implements technology solutions tailored to each client’s unique requirements. Work often involves assessing existing systems, defining future-state architectures, and guiding organizations through complex digital transformations. Team members are encouraged to bring forward new ideas and continuously refine architectural practices. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton, ON. The role involves acting as a senior solution architect, leading the design of end-to-end technology solutions that align with client business goals and technical constraints. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and analyzing requirements, mapping current and target architectures, selecting appropriate technologies, and creating clear architectural documentation and diagrams. The position also requires collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure solutions are feasible, secure, scalable, and maintainable. In addition, the role includes guiding implementation, resolving technical issues, participating in project planning, and continuously improving architectural standards and best practices across engagements. Qualifications
Strong experience in solution architecture, including designing end-to-end systems, integrations, and technology stacks for complex environments. Proficiency in analyzing business requirements and translating them into clear, actionable architectural designs and roadmaps. Solid understanding of software engineering principles, cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), and common integration patterns. Ability to produce high-quality documentation, models, and diagrams that communicate architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, operations, and business leaders. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions under time and resource constraints. Background in security, performance, and scalability considerations within modern distributed systems is an asset. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Prior consulting or freelance experience and familiarity with client-facing work, proposals, and solution presentations are beneficial.
