Position Overview

The Autodesk Info360 Operational Analytics team is building the data infrastructure that powers modern water management, helping utilities monitor, predict, and respond to issues across thousands of sensors in near real-time.

We're looking for a Principal Backend / Data Engineer who thrives on high-frequency, large-scale data problems. You'll design and ship the systems behind time-series analytics, smart alerting, and anomaly detection features that water operators depend on every day.

This is a backend-heavy role with strong data engineering depth. You'll own pipelines, APIs, and the reliability of the data that drives critical decisions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and scale cloud-native backend services and APIs on AWS that handle high frequency sensor and time-series data. Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for large-scale, near real-time ingestion and processing. Play a key role in delivering AI/ML-powered features by building the backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs that bring intelligent capabilities to production. Own features end-to-end from design through production including monitoring, reliability, and iteration. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data flow, query performance and service interactions. Build backend infrastructure that supports ML model serving, feature pipelines, and feedback loops for predictive alerting. Leverage AI-assisted development practices to accelerate design, implementation, and code quality across backend services and pipelines. Collaborate across engineeri

Position Overview

Fusion Industry Cloud relies on accurate, trustworthy analytics and system state signals. This role is a Principal QA developer responsible for building the quality strategy and automation systems that ensure analytics reporting and SSR pipelines are correct, stable, and “fail fast.” You will help shift detection left: catching reporting defects in CI/PR workflows and validating downstream pipeline correctness end-to-end.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the analytics quality strategy across client reporting, SSR pipelines, and downstream consumption Build automated test frameworks that detect analytics/reporting failures early (PR/CI), including regression coverage and dynamic validation suites Create end-to-end test plans covering ingestion → validation → enrichment → warehouse publication → dashboard/BI outputs Develop reusable test harnesses, test data, and validation utilities; integrate results into developer workflows Partner with engineering to define “definition of done” for analytics features (test plans, automation coverage, performance checks, release readiness) Triage pipeline/data quality issues, analyze root causes, and drive corrective actions with engineering partners Coach and raise quality practices across the team through standards, templates, and clear accountability

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years in QA/SDET roles with substantial automation responsibility Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python/Java/TypeScript) and test automation frameworks Experience testing distributed systems, pipelines, or data-driven products end-to-end Ability to design test strategies, define coverage, and build scalable automation Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience validating analytics/telemetry events, schemas, and data quality constraints Experience with Snowflake, SQL-based validation, and BI/dashboard validation Experience integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD (PR checks, pipeline gating, reporting) Familiarity with performance testing and reliability practices for pipelines

The Ideal Candidate

Drives “One Autodesk” outcomes by building shared quality systems that help every team ship with confidence Communicates with clarity and honesty-surfaces risks early and proposes solutions Relentless about quality: measurable coverage, actionable reporting, and continuous improvement loops Brave and ingenious: challenges flaky patterns, pushes detection left, and improves foundations
