About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining mission-critical data pipelines that support our customer-facing solutions. Your work will directly impact how we deliver real-time market signals and insights to our clients, enabling them to make informed decisions on infrastructure investments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of data engineering best practices, including data modeling, orchestration, and data warehousing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Data, Product, and Customer Success to develop bespoke solutions, optimize data workflows, and ensure the robustness and scalability of our data infrastructure. This hybrid position is based out of our Toronto office, requiring a minimum of three days in-office per week. Qualifications

Proficiency in Python and SQL Minimum of 2+ years experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Airflow or Cloud Composer Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and experience with BigQuery Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and building reliable, idempotent pipelines Experience with Git and cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Experience with building and deploying interactive dashboards or data applications (e.g., Dash on Cloud Run) is a plus Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive issue resolution abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with analysts and stakeholders Enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools like Claude to enhance productivity

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy high-performance, reliable data pipelines using Airflow and BigQuery Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements and create efficient data models Optimize query performance and pipeline efficiency for maximum scalability and responsiveness Serve as the dedicated data engineering resource for custom solutions, translating client requirements into technical implementations Participate in testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring of data workflows Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting new technologies, tools, and best practices Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation processes Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing data infrastructure and workflows Perform other related duties as assigned to support team objectives
