About the role
What you'll do:
As a Merchandise Allocator, you will play a critical role in providing the products Canadians want through optimizing allocation and distribution of merchandise to our store network. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze sales data, monitor inventory levels, and make informed decisions to allocate stock appropriately. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for optimizing product availability to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Analysis: Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to forecast future demand for different products.
- Merchandise Allocation: Determine the appropriate quantity of merchandise to allocate to each store location based on factors such as historical sales performance, store size, demographics, and local market conditions.
- Replenishment Planning: Collaborate with buyers, planners, and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of stock based on sales forecasts and inventory levels.
- Product Flow Optimization: Coordinate with distribution centers to monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring efficient product flow and minimizing stockouts or excess inventory.
- Sales Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze store-level sales performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement or adjustment in merchandise allocation strategies.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports summarizing key metrics related to inventory management, allocation decisions, and sales performance for management review.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as buying, planning, logistics, and store operations to gather insights, align strategies, and optimize overall business performance.
What you bring:
- Previous retail and/or merchandising experience an asset
- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Prior experience using data visualization tools (Power BI)
- Previous experience using Python/SQL an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative and courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment
- Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business
- Outcome focused, critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business
- Collaborative team players, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward
