About The Role
The Senior Data Analyst at ANBL acts as a strategic partner to various business functions, leveraging data to drive informed decision-making and operational excellence. This role involves understanding complex business needs, designing and maintaining advanced analytical models, and delivering actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and KPIs. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, high-quality analytical solutions, ensuring data integrity, and promoting data literacy across the organization. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders at all levels, mentoring team members, and continuously seeking process improvements to enhance analytics practices. Based out of the Retail Operations Center in Fredericton, New Brunswick, or working remotely within the province, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping ANBL’s data-driven strategies.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field 5+ years of experience in data analysis, report development, and data modeling Proven expertise in designing and delivering enterprise Power BI reports and semantic models using Fabric Lakehouse or similar cloud platforms Advanced proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement and data storytelling Experience with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse architecture and medallion design patterns is an asset Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ERP/CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred Understanding of data governance principles, including data lineage and metadata management, is advantageous Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset but not mandatory
Responsibilities
Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into scalable analytical solutions Design, maintain, and optimize semantic models and perform advanced analyses such as forecasting, segmentation, and trend analysis Provide insights that identify drivers, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decisions Collaborate with business leaders to translate insights into actionable recommendations Build and maintain strategic relationships across ANBL to anticipate evolving analytics needs Proactively monitor and validate data quality, working with Data Governance teams to resolve systemic issues Establish and uphold documentation standards to facilitate knowledge sharing and solution maintainability Lead process reviews to identify efficiencies and implement improvements that add value Promote data literacy organization-wide and mentor team members in analytics best practices Stay current with industry trends and evolving tools to enhance analytics capabilities Support the organization’s data governance initiatives, including data lineage, metadata, and cataloging
