The Role: Senior QA Automation Engineer (AI-Enabled Testing & Quality Engineering)
This is a hands-on, hybrid role designed for builders and quality leaders. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you'll be part of a deeply technical team responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of modern enterprise applications. From designing automation frameworks and validating complex backend systems to leveraging AI-powered tools that accelerate testing, you'll help shape the future of quality engineering at Tactable.
Beyond delivering high-quality software, you'll play a key role in elevating the QA practice by mentoring team members, establishing testing standards, and teaching engineers how to effectively use AI to improve productivity, test coverage, and overall quality outcomes.

What You'll Do
Quality Engineering & Test Automation Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for frontend and backend applications Develop automated test suites covering UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing scenarios Create testing strategies that balance automation, manual validation, risk assessment, and business priorities Implement automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable releases Validate complex distributed systems, APIs, data integrations, and cloud-native applications Collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle Identify opportunities to improve test reliability, execution speed, maintainability, and coverage
AI-Driven Quality Engineering Champion the use of AI tools and workflows to improve testing efficiency and engineering productivity Train and mentor QA team members on practical AI-assisted testing techniques Evaluate and implement AI-powered approaches for test generation, test maintenance, defect analysis, and quality insights Establish best practices for combining foundational automation principles with modern AI capabilities Help the organization adopt emerging AI-enabled quality engineering workflows responsibly and effectively
Technical Leadership Guide automation architecture decisions and testing strategy across multiple projects Educate teams on testing fundamentals, including the purpose and proper use of unit, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end tests Mentor junior and intermediate QA engineers on automation design, test strategy, and engineering best practices Lead framework improvements and drive adoption of quality standards across teams Review automation code, testing approaches, and quality metrics to ensure long-term maintainability
Client & Project Exposure Rotate across engagements involving enterprise software, cloud platforms, data-intensive systems, and regulated environments Lead quality initiatives for greenfield applications, modernization projects, and high-scale systems Act as a trusted technical partner to client teams, helping establish quality processes and automation strategies that deliver measurable business value
What You Bring
Must-Have Experience 8+ years of QA automation or software quality engineering experience in production environments Deep expertise in designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks Strong experience testing both frontend and backend applications Hands-on experience with API testing, UI testing, integration testing, and regression automation Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, including: Unit Testing Integration Testing Regression Testing End-to-End Testing Test Pyramid concepts Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of test architecture, test data management, and quality metrics Ability to mentor and guide QA teams on automation best practices Excellent communication skills and ability to influence engineering quality standards
AI & Modern Testing Experience Practical understanding of AI-assisted software development and testing workflows Experience using AI tools to improve test creation, maintenance, debugging, documentation, or quality analysis Ability to evaluate when AI-generated testing solutions are appropriate and when traditional engineering approaches are required Strong interest in staying current with emerging AI technologies and applying them to quality engineering challenges
Nice-to-Have Experience Direct experience implementing AI-driven testing solutions or intelligent test automation platforms Experience with LLMs, AI copilots, prompt engineering, or AI-powered developer tools Programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages Experience testing cloud-native applications and distributed systems Experience in highly regulated industries such as financial services, banking, insurance, or healthcare Previous experience leading QA teams or driving organization-wide testing initiatives
