Job Title: Production Support Engineer (Linux/Unix & Oracle) Location: Toronto, ON - Onsite
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to provide critical support for enterprise applications and production environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in incident management, Linux/Unix administration, Shell Scripting, Oracle databases, and application troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on involvement in resolving production issues, performing root cause analysis, monitoring application health, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and high availability
Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for production incidents and application support issues Participate in incident bridge calls, provide technical updates, and drive issue resolution Monitor production systems and proactively identify potential risks and service disruptions Perform log analysis, troubleshooting, and system diagnostics to identify root causes Execute operational tasks and automation using Shell Scripts in Linux/Unix environments Analyze Oracle database issues, including query performance, locks, transactions, and data integrity Collaborate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Release teams to implement fixes and deployments Support multiple environments including Production, UAT, QA, and Disaster Recovery (DR) Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, and incident documentation Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend preventive and corrective actions Participate in on-call support rotations and ensure SLA compliance.
