IT Support & Data Specialist

Permanent, Full-time

Start: immediately

Position Overview:

The IT Support & Data Specialist helps ensure that the school’s technology runs smoothly for students, staff, and families. This is a varied, hands-on role where every day brings something new. The successful candidate will be a friendly and responsive point of contact for IT support across the school community, while keeping our various data systems seamlessly connected. Working closely with the Director of IT, this role will take ownership of a growing portfolio of responsibilities, ranging from help desk support and classroom technology to user account management, building reports, systems administration, data integrations and automation projects.

GNS operates a rich ecosystem of platforms, including: Google Workspace for Education, Blackbaud (SIS, Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge), Managebac, Mosyle MDM, FileMaker, and a variety of custom-built integrations, across two campuses and two boarding houses in Victoria. The successful candidate does not need to know all of these systems on day one. What matters most is a curious, methodical approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a genuine interest in learning.

For a detailed description of duties, please see the attached job description.

What You’ll Bring

You hold a post-secondary credential in IT, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field. Experience providing technical support in a multi-platform environment (macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, Android, Linux, and Windows) would be an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

As a highly visible member of the IT team operating across our Victoria campuses, you pair sharp analytical troubleshooting with a warm, customer-centric approach. You are a curious, self-directed problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can translate complex technical ideas into plain language for staff, students, and parents alike. You bring a collaborative spirit, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for making a meaningful impact.

This is a fully on-site position and dynamic role that spans a wide spectrum of physical demands. Candidates must be comfortable transitioning between extended periods of desk-based work and physically demanding, hands-on field tasks across our campuses.

Our “Must-Haves”

You are a caring and compassionate individual who actively lives the GNS values of Truth, Courage, Caring, Individuality, and Community. You demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. You are highly organized, dependable, and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You bring a collaborative spirit, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for supporting others. Please refer to the job description linked above for a detailed list of desired skills and experience.

Why work for GNS?

Working at GNS means joining a collaborative, caring, innovative, and inclusive community where people genuinely enjoy what they do. We are united by a shared purpose: preparing outstanding citizens of character who will positively contribute to the world through leadership, service, and the understanding that we are all responsible for the future of our communities. We foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and meaningful connection. We work hard, support one another, celebrate successes, and have fun along the way.

GNS offers a comprehensive total compensation package including immediate benefits with a health spending account and virtual health care, plus a generous RRSP program, tuition discount, free parking, mental health and wellness programs, fitness centre and much more. Salary Range: $80,000- $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We invite you to join our truly exceptional learning community and to experience a rewarding career in independent education.
