About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team as part of our digital transformation journey. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming unmanaged and siloed data into strategic assets that support our organizational goals. Sitting at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, you will develop scalable data pipelines, establish robust data governance practices, and design data architecture within our Microsoft Fabric environment. Your expertise will enable GCC to leverage data for AI-driven insights, enhance decision-making processes, and support innovative projects that align with our mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data transformation, pipeline development, and governance, with a passion for turning complex data into accessible, reliable, and actionable information.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Data or Analytics Engineering Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Power BI Proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark) for data transformation and pipeline development Knowledge of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview or similar platforms Experience with designing and managing medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) Strong analytical skills with the ability to process unstructured and messy data into structured formats Excellent verbal and written communication skills for synthesizing complex information and collaborating across teams Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience Experience or familiarity with AI integration and privacy standards is a plus
Responsibilities
Identify and migrate unmanaged, siloed data (structured and unstructured) into Microsoft Fabric OneLake, ensuring data quality and consistency Develop, automate, and maintain ELT/ETL workflows using Data Factory and Spark Notebooks to streamline data processing Implement and enforce data governance policies using Microsoft Purview, including setting sensitivity labels, data lineage, and role-based access controls Design and oversee the transition of data through the medallion architecture—from raw (Bronze) to cleaned (Silver) to business-ready (Gold) layers Ensure datasets feeding AI models are accurate, deduplicated, and compliant with privacy and security standards Partner with business units to understand core processes, identify opportunities for automation, and optimize data-heavy workflows Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data architecture aligns with organizational needs and strategic goals Continuously improve data processes, pipelines, and governance frameworks to support scalable and sustainable data practices
