Why is this role important?
The Senior Analyst, Master and Reference Data, supports defining and implementation of an enterprise-level vision and strategy to enhance master and reference data capabilities for operational, analytical and reporting needs. Working across master and reference data domains, the role leads and supports data management activities including data standards, stewardship, statistical coding, and testing strategies, while collaborating with program areas and governance committee. The position also provides methodological guidance and mentoring and contributes to key strategic initiatives and continuous improvement of master data solutions.
What you'll do
- Conduct data management activities including writing and updating source code required for the development, computation, analysis, and/or verification of key deliverables
- Create and enhance usage guidelines, standards, documentation and educational resources to facilitate corporate stewardship and accountability for master data domains.
- Participate in the design and delivery of test strategies and develop scripts to ensure accurate implementation of master data solutions and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with program areas and governance committees to gather requirements and implement priorities for master and reference data management.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of CIHI’s data holdings systems and analytics and their use of organization, geography, client and population master data.
- Provide methodological advice and mentoring to analytical team members.
- Support proactive planning and implementation of the master and reference data strategy.
- Assist with the development and delivery of presentations and education sessions.
What you'll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Health Sciences or related field.
- 3-5 years related experience in data management and analytics involving large and complex datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis; experience with R is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with CIHI databases, healthcare data and standards, and master or reference data management is an asset.
