You are a senior individual contributor with a strong platform engineering mindset and a passion for improving how software is built, tested, and delivered. You are energized by creating developer tools, APIs, SDKs, and automation that make engineering teams more productive and effective. Rather than focusing primarily on SDET-style test ownership, you focus on building and evolving the underlying quality and developer platform capabilities that enable teams to move faster with confidence. As Sr. Software Developer, Quality Platform, you design, build, maintain, and improve the tools and services that support engineering excellence across the SDLC. You partner closely with DevOps and product engineering teams to streamline CI/CD automation, improve developer workflows, strengthen observability and incident readiness, and enable scalable, high-quality software delivery. You bring a practical backend engineering approach, strong platform instincts, and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you build.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain platform tools, internal APIs, SDKs, and automation that improve software delivery and developer productivity
- Enhance and extend CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows to reduce friction, shorten feedback loops, and improve release quality
- Apply sound backend engineering principles to build scalable, reliable platform services and integrations
- Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to improve developer experience, platform reliability, and quality enablement across the SDLC
- Keep platform services, tools, and automation up to date through continuous improvement and proactive maintenance
- Support scalable QA and engineering workflows by creating self-serve capabilities for developers and testers
- Strengthen observability and incident readiness by improving telemetry, monitoring, and operational insight across platform services
- Contribute to infrastructure and platform standards through Infrastructure as Code and engineering best practices
- Produce clear technical documentation for platform capabilities, workflows, and engineering usage
- Help shape the long-term roadmap for quality platform and developer enablement capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 8+ years of professional experience in software development, platform engineering, developer tooling, or quality engineering with a strong backend focus
- Proven experience building and maintaining internal engineering tools, APIs, services, or SDKs that improve developer productivity
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience designing scalable, maintainable production systems
- Experience with developer-facing tooling or platform services
- Strong understanding of API design and backend production services
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation and modern engineering workflows
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments
- Familiarity with cloud security practices and operational best practices
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and platform automation
- Working knowledge of observability and incident management practices
- Strong technical communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation and align cross-functional partners
- Collaborative mindset, strong ownership, and a continuous improvement approach to platform and developer experience
- Experience in FinTech, B2C SaaS, or other regulated environments is an asset
- Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) is an asset
- Ability to integrate or adopt AI tools in day-to-day tasks

Salary Range
$100,000 – $135,000
Final compensation is determined by market conditions, location, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and education. This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentive programs and total compensation may include variable incentives, such as bonuses and commissions.
