Position: AWS Lead Engineer Location: Toronto ON

Key Responsibilities: Lead AWS data migration initiatives with strong hands-on experience in Amazon EMR for large-scale data processing and migration. Design, deploy, and manage big data workloads on Amazon EMR, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost optimization. Utilize AWS DataSync and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) for efficient and reliable data migration. Build and orchestrate workflows using AWS Step Functions or Apache Airflow for seamless data pipelines. Leverage AWS S3 and Amazon Redshift for scalable data storage and analytics solutions. Develop and maintain Python-based data processing, automation, and EMR job workflows (e.g., PySpark, Spark). Optimize EMR jobs and ETL pipelines for performance tuning, resource utilization, and cost efficiency. Perform data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure migration accuracy and data quality. Manage infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and drive deployments across Dev, UAT, and Production environments. Collaborate with Project Managers to define migration strategies, execution plans, and timelines. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Infra, Cloud Engineering, Development, Data, Operations, etc.) for smooth delivery. Act as Iris representative for stakeholder communication, track progress, resolve blockers, and ensure successful project execution.
