Job Title: UI/UX & Digital Experience Intern Hourly Rate: $17.00 Contract Term: Up to 8-weeks Hours of Work: Minimum of 30 hours per week Position Type: Canada Summer Jobs contract

Job Summary The UI/UX & Digital Experience Intern will support website updates, user experience improvements, and content organization. This role is ideal for someone interested in web design, UI/UX, accessibility, information design, or digital communications. Working with the WaterPortal team, the successful candidate will help review and improve website content, test digital tools, and support SEO improvements.

Responsibilities Support website development, updates, and improvements to user experience Conduct user research to better understand the needs of WaterPortal visitors Test website pages, forms, and digital tools for usability, clarity, and accessibility Recommend and implement UI/UX improvements to improve navigation, readability, and overall user experience Support search engine optimization by reviewing page titles, headings, metadata, keywords, and content structure Collaborate with the team to organize web content in a clear and user-friendly way Communicate regularly with the supervisor regarding progress, questions, and technical issues

Skills and Experience Interest in UI/UX design, web design, information design, or digital communications Strong attention to detail and organization • Clear writing and editing skills Ability to work independently and manage tasks Ability to think from the perspective of different website users Current or recent post-secondary education in UI/UX design, web design, information design, communications, digital media, computer science, or a related field is an asset Familiarity with accessibility principles and SEO optimization is an asset Experience with website platforms, forms, or content management systems is an asset

Position Details This is a temporary, full-time remote position for up to 8 weeks, with a minimum of 30 hours per week. The wage for this position is $17 per hour.

The position is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs program. The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for this role:

The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period. The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
