Principal Azure Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Toronto, ON, Canada (Remote) Employment Type: Permanent Overview We are seeking a Principal Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise-scale Azure cloud platforms. This role requires deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security, and cloud governance. You will drive cloud strategy, build reusable platform capabilities, and enable engineering teams through automation and best practices. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient Azure cloud platforms. Develop and maintain Azure landing zones, networking, identity, governance, and platform services. Lead Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, GitHub Actions, CDKTF) and CI/CD initiatives. Build reusable deployment frameworks, automation tools, and self-service platform capabilities. Implement cloud security, compliance, monitoring, and operational best practices. Partner with engineering, security, and architecture teams to drive cloud adoption and platform excellence. Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on large-scale cloud initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure leadership roles. Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-scale Azure environments. Strong track record of delivering cloud platform services, automation frameworks, and shared engineering capabilities. Experience leading complex cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
