About the role
Product Quality Engineer — AI-First SaaS Location: Remote — Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile (significant overlap with Montreal / Eastern Time hours required) Type: Full-time, mid-level Reports to: Engineering (Head of Engineering / Eng lead) Company: Pricepoint About Pricepoint Pricepoint is a fast-growing Montreal AI company building revenue management software for hotels, hostels, and accommodation businesses worldwide. Our platform helps properties optimize pricing in real time, lift revenue performance, and cut manual work. We're 50+ people serving hundreds of customers globally, and we value ownership, trust, direct communication, high standards, and practical execution. About the Role We're looking for a Product Quality Engineer to make sure Pricepoint releases are reliable, tested, and safe for hotel customers before they reach production. This is not a traditional manual QA role, and it's not a production engineering role — you won't own product architecture or production code. But you'll be technical enough to work with AI tools, browser dev tools, logs, APIs, and test automation to validate quality before release. Your job is to catch problems early and confirm that what we decided to ship actually works — not to judge whether a feature is well-designed or easy to use. What You'll Own Pre-release quality checks across Pricepoint's key workflows: onboarding, setup, pricing recommendations, manual overrides, restrictions, reporting, user permissions, integrations, and AI explanations. Hands-on testing of the product end-to-end — working through real workflows the way a hotelier actually would, to find what breaks before customers do. This sits alongside automated coverage, not behind it. Test plans for new features, built from requirements, designs, tickets, and real customer scenarios — using AI to accelerate case and test-data generation. Automated smoke tests and regression coverage for the workflows that matter most, written and maintained in tools like Playwright or Cypress. Clear, reproducible bug reports: steps, expected vs. actual, screenshots, logs, severity, and customer impact. Release-readiness checklists, plus escalating quality risks before they reach customers. Spotting repeated quality patterns across bugs, support tickets, and feedback — and flagging them, plus turning them into better tests and clearer requirements. What This Role Is Not You are not the only line of defense. Engineers still own testing their own code; this role raises the quality bar and catches what slips through, rather than relieving Engineering of that responsibility. The goal is to multiply the team's quality, not become a bottleneck or a single point of blame. You also don't evaluate usability or product decisions. You verify that what we decided to ship works as intended — a broken or missing error state is a defect you catch; whether a feature is the right design, or easy enough to use, is Product's call, not yours. Who You Are You're a mid-level quality engineer who tests hands-on — working through real scenarios like a user and thinking in risks, edge cases, and customer impact. That's deliberate, structured exploration, not aimless clicking. You're precise and careful, and you can already do the technical core of the job: read APIs and logs, use browser dev tools, inspect data (basic SQL a plus), and write and maintain test automation. You don't need revenue management or hotel-pricing expertise — this is a developer / computer-science / testing profile. You'll learn how the product's features work and how data flows through them, but the domain judgment (is this the right price?) stays with the Science and product teams. You're also AI-native: you use AI tools daily to generate cases, create test data, analyze logs, draft reports, and automate repetitive work. We treat that fluency as a force multiplier on top of solid testing judgment — not a substitute for it.

. How You'll Work With the Te amYou'll partner with Engineering to reproduce bugs, validate fixes, and assess release readiness; with Product Experience to confirm user flows and error/empty states behave as intended (whether they're well-designed is their call, not yours); with the Science team to confirm that pricing recommendations, AI outputs, and model results render and flow through the product correctly, and to flag anything that looks broken — judging whether a recommendation is the right number is their call, not yours; and with Product Operations, Customer Success, and Implementation to ground your testing in real customer scenarios and confirm fixes solve real problem
