About the Engagement Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Software Engineer, Private Investments Platform consultant to support application development initiatives within a leading financial services organization. The engagement involves designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications that support Private Markets investment teams, with a particular focus on private equity investment insights, dashboards, data integrations, and workflow solutions. The successful consultant will work closely with technology teams, product owners, data professionals, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions. This role requires a strong generalist engineer capable of contributing across front-end, back-end, APIs, data, integrations, and cloud-native technologies.

Services to be Provided • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable enterprise software applications supporting Private Markets business functions. • Build and enhance applications using Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, React, SQL, and modern web development frameworks. • Develop dashboards and reporting solutions that provide insight into private equity investment portfolios and related business metrics. • Design and implement APIs, integrations, data workflows, and service-oriented application components. • Write efficient SQL and support data integration, reporting, analytics, and operational use cases. • Collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. • Participate in technical planning, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support activities. • Support modern software delivery practices including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, source control, and release management. • Contribute to cloud-native and containerized application deployments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, and maintainability. • Mentor and support team members through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.

Expertise Required • 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience designing and developing enterprise applications. • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, React, and SQL. • Experience designing and developing front-end, back-end, API, integration, and data-centric solutions. • Strong software engineering fundamentals including application architecture, design patterns, testing, and code quality practices. • Experience working with relational databases and data modeling concepts. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Ability to work independently, provide technical leadership, and mentor team members. • Previous experience within the financial services sector is required. • Experience supporting investment management, capital markets, private markets, or related financial business functions is strongly preferred.

This is a business-to-business engagement. Candidates must represent an incorporated entity, hold a valid business number, maintain appropriate insurance, and invoice for services rendered.

Nice to Have • Experience with Snowflake or cloud-based data platforms. • Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application development. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment environments. • Familiarity with application monitoring, observability, logging, and production support practices. • Experience with AI-enabled applications, AI integrations, vector databases, or agentic workflows. • Experience within investments, private equity, private markets, capital markets, asset management, or related financial services domains.
