About the role
As a Survey Programmer, you will be at the heart of our market research operations, responsible for transforming complex questionnaires into engaging online surveys. Your primary mission will be to script and program our surveys, ensuring flawless execution in line with precise project specifications. This role is critical to guaranteeing data integrity and providing an excellent experience for our respondents.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the scripting of surveys according to project materials and requirements.
- Provide consultative feedback to project stakeholders about the questionnaire design; offer alternate solutions when requests are not feasible.
- Check for the accuracy of the survey program by validating the script code is error-free, and by testing the survey online.
- Follow existing best practices in combination with personal technical ability to create, test and maintain complex surveys with an emphasis on high quality.
- Responsible for achieving project objectives (scripting quality, on time delivery, specific customer requirements).
- Become proficient in the application of pre-developed modules, product templates, and scripting tools.
- Work in a dynamic scripting team without national boundaries, which requires creative input daily to resolve technical issues as they present themselves.
- Use a project management flow system and process that enforces quality gateways and efficiencies to drive lower costs and timing for our clients.
- Consider the overall business in every action that is taken. The role is dynamic and will constantly change to meet the business needs; it is expected that each member has a solid understanding of the surrounding areas across the business globally.
- Learn new software as the business and company evolves. Performs other essential duties as assigned.
Professional experience
Minimum of two years programming experience (market research a plus)
Knowledge and technical skills

Diploma or Degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent in experience.

Knowledge of specialized software programs (Dimensions suite, Professional, Quancept, Forsta, Qualtrics) or other programming software for market research survey scripting is a plus.

Experience with web technologies is highly desirable (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and VBScript).

Experience with Python is highly desirable. Knowledge of MySQL languages and basic concepts encountered within relational database systems is a plus.
Business expertise and people skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with people.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle multiple projects and tasks within established timeframes.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Experience in working with offshore teams a plus.

In accordance with Ontario & British Columbia law, the estimated base salary for this role is $45,000 to $55,000 CAD. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
