JOB OVERVIEW:
This position will ensure Board compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices. Lead energy and sustainability programs that promote student and staff well-being while serving as a technical expert for risk mitigation and utility data. Action and monitor the Asbestos Management Control Plan, the management of designated substances under the OHSA, Environmental Emergency Regulations, and deliver safety training to maintain a healthy, efficient workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research, recommend, plan, implement, and manage educational technology at schools in collaboration with school administration and the Information and Technology Services Leadership Team. Deploy, support and maintain educational technology through image development, configuration, troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair. Escalate repairs to manufacturers, suppliers or other job roles when required. Assist with the installation of educational technologies when required. Assist in the setup, maintenance and configuration of school servers. Configure, implement and maintain school server applications for print management, school software licensing, quota management, inventory management and image deployment. Develop and program scripts to support and maintain computer systems and software deployment. Deploy support and maintain computer and device security. Manage secure backups and file transfers between administrative workstations and servers. Assist in the setup, maintenance, configuration, and support of school infrastructure including endpoint devices, projectors and interactive smartboards, video surveillance systems from cabling to cameras to DVR/NVR, telephony devices, P.A. devices, door entry devices. Support surveillance and communication technologies through basic troubleshooting and software installation/configuration on administrative computers. Further support to be provided by Systems Analysts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum post-secondary completion of a three (3) year diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or other related post-secondary programs. Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience, preferably within the education sector. Knowledge of school related technology systems and applications such as telephony, interactive smart boards, video surveillance systems, etc. Demonstrated experience working in a busy office, with experience multitasking, prioritizing, troubleshooting, and organizing work. Demonstrated experience communicating with various parties such as employees and external vendors. Prior experience providing IT related training is considered an asset. Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.
