To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com Reporting to the Head, Personal and Business Banking (PBB) AI, Data and Analytics Office, the Vice-President, Data Products & Utilities is accountable for setting the strategic direction and developing the data roadmap for PBB, that ensures alignment with enterprise scale and tooling with PBB business needs. The role is accountable for providing oversight and leadership for robust data pipelines to fuel analytics across PBB and power real-time client experience personalization and deliver self-service tools for key partners. The accountability of this role encompasses PBB Channels, strategic client segments, and Simplii Financial, with a focus on delivering exceptional outcomes in growth, revenue generation, and customer satisfaction. What You’ll be Doing Data Utilities – Capabilities and Integration Develop and Maintain Data Pipelines - lead the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of robust data ingestion and integration pipelines to connect PBB and enterprise data sources, ensuring seamless and reliable data flow across the organization. Enable Real-Time Data Availability - champion initiatives that provide real-time data access for analytics and personalization use cases, driving actionable insights and enhanced customer experiences. Partner with Enterprise Technology - collaborate closely with Enterprise Technology teams to ensure that core data flows are scalable, high-performing, and secure, aligning technical solutions with business requirements and compliance standards. Ensure Cross-Platform Connectivity - oversee the implementation and optimization of cross-platform data connectivity, leveraging advanced integration capabilities to unify data assets and enhance interoperability between systems. Data Products – Marketplace and Access Design and Manage the Data Marketplace - lead the design, development, and ongoing management of the PBB Data Marketplace, enabling self-serve access to curated, high-value data assets for business users across the organization. Standardize Data Definitions, Lineage, and Metadata - drive the standardization of data definitions, lineage tracking, and metadata management to enhance transparency, consistency, and data reuse across business domains. Support Business Users and Analysts - oversee the implementation of data discovery tools and access management processes, empowering business users and analysts to efficiently locate, understand, and utilize data resources while maintaining appropriate security and management controls. Data Management and Quality Establish and Operationalize Data Management Standards - develop, implement, and champion PBB-wide data management standards, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Data Office and enterprise-wide policies. Monitor and Enhance Data Quality - oversee the continuous monitoring and improvement of data quality, accuracy, and timeliness to support both analytical and operational use cases across the organization. Define Stewardship Roles and Accountability - define and enforce data stewardship roles, responsibilities, and accountability for critical data elements within PBB, fostering a culture of ownership and data integrity. Advance Cloud Migration and Data Modernization - drive progress towards cloud migration and data modernization objectives, ensuring data assets are optimized for scalability, accessibility, and future growth. Production BI - Tools and Analytics Automation Maintain and optimize analytics platforms and toolsets to support insight generation (e.g., dashboards, visualization, decision support tools, AI in BI). Partner with Domains and Chapters to enable frontline and product teams to use analytical insights in daily decision-making. Ensure data security, access controls, and compliance across analytical environments. Identify and deploy automation opportunities to streamline recurring data and reporting workflows. Drive adoption of analytical automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Systems Business Ownership PBB Data Products - oversee business strategy, operational alignment, and value delivery for core PBB data products. Drive adoption and continuous improvement of platforms, ensuring these solutions effectively support business objectives and client experience. Data Utilities - provide leadership and business stewardship for data utilities and Martech feeds. Ensure these utilities deliver timely, high-quality data to downstream analytics, marketing, and operational teams, while maintaining robust management and scalability. AIDA Toolkit (Production BI Platform & Delivery, Data Management Toolkit) - own the business enablement and delivery of the AIDA Toolkit, including the production BI platform and data management solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize platform capabilities, streamline data management practices, and uphold enterprise standards for data quality, compliance, and accessibility. What We’re Looking For University degree, MBA, or B.S./M.Sc. in quantitative disciplines such as Statistics, Applied Science/Math or Engineering. Strong knowledge of analytical tools and predictive modelling including how they may be leveraged to solve business problems. Experience in working with large datasets including both structured and unstructured data and knowledge of related tools. Experience leading Agile business teams and employing user-centred design and end-to-end process thinking. Extensive Strategy, Consulting and/or Client experience roles in Client focused industries. Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in Client experience programs. Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry, CIBC strategy, lines of business and client strategy and segments, products and services. Strong understanding and experience analyzing research / sample based data. Ability to judge quality of data, interpret complex quantitative information to draw meaningful conclusions. Strong influential/negotiation skills sufficient to respond to client issues, lead and shape business decisions using informed client insights and data driven solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop unique solutions to complex and abstract issues and to provide interpretive advice to business and functional leaders. Excellent communication, and presentation skills with ability to convey technical information in understandable terms and proven track record in documenting insights and influencing action. Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship management skills to effectively balance operating as a change champion and a consultant to the business. Strong leadership and people manager in order to develop and maintain a high calibre of talent in what is typically a high demand, highly competitive market.
