Senior Project Manager
About the role
Location: Laval, Quebec
The Senior Project Manager will apply structured project management methodologies in complex environments to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, in scope, and are relevant business objectives. This professional will be working closely with team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. To be a successful candidate, you will need to have proven experience in leading a large-scale project team comprised of multiple third-party vendors.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with cross discipline team members and vendors to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules. Oversee the coordination of disciplines from the procurement process through deployment of hardware and software solutions to hundreds of retail sites across a large geographic area. Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success. Meet with project team members to identify and resolve issues. Assign and oversee daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all team members are actively working toward established milestones. Develop project plans, goals, and budgets; identify resources needed. Develop schedules and methods for measuring results. Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communications. Submit project deliverables and ensure that they adhere to quality standards. Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information. Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution. Facilitate change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget. Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables. Conduct post project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or relevant work experience Advanced Degree a plus Industry Certification a plus – ITIL, CSM, PMP, etc. French language skills sufficient for verbal/written communication throughout Quebec and Canadian Provinces Ability to be present in person multiple days each week as necessary in an office environment in Laval, Quebec Geographic and sociographic knowledge of Canadian Provinces 8+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years as a Project Manager Proven track record in working on enterprise-level large projects Experience in process definition, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives Great written and verbal communications skills with the ability to negotiate and reach “win-win” scenarios Ability to direct and manage teams – identifying project tasks, setting priorities, assigning and monitoring work Ability to interact with and manage both local and virtual project teams Experience (leading or participating) in the deployment of enterprise-wide processes Knowledge of SDLC, application integration principles, standards and methods Expert knowledge of the MS Office Suite – Project, Visio, Word, Excel Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall
