Network Engineer – Autonomous Systems Data Annotation Specialist (Remote) Employment Type: Independent Contractor Location: Remote (United States & Canada) Compensation: $50–$70 per hour Role Overview We are seeking experienced Network Engineers with strong Level 3 / Tier 3 support backgrounds to contribute to an innovative AI and autonomous infrastructure initiative.
In this role, you will apply your expertise in network troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis to help organize, classify, and structure networking data used to train next-generation AI systems. This opportunity combines hands-on networking knowledge with emerging applications in machine learning and intelligent infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Analyze real-world network data, including logs, configurations, telemetry, and event streams Identify, classify, and annotate network behaviors, incidents, anomalies, and performance patterns Support the development of structured datasets used for AI and machine learning applications Review production network events and contribute insights based on troubleshooting expertise Assist in defining data schemas and labeling standards for large-scale infrastructure datasets Collaborate directly with engineering and research teams to improve data quality and consistency Document findings and provide technical recommendations based on observed network behavior Required Qualifications Current experience as a Level 3, Tier 3, Principal Support, or Senior Network Engineer Proven expertise in network troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and escalation management Hands-on experience supporting enterprise networking environments Strong knowledge of switches, wireless access points, firewalls, routing, and network infrastructure Experience supporting customers across industries such as healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, or education Ability to interpret network logs, packet captures, and telemetry data Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Interest in AI, machine learning, and data-driven infrastructure systems Experience working with large-scale networking environments Familiarity with network automation, observability platforms, or cloud networking Exposure to data annotation, classification, or analytics projects Strong documentation and technical communication skills Project Details Fully remote engagement Direct collaboration with the client’s engineering team Expected commitment of 30–40 hours per week Flexible scheduling Opportunity for project extensions based on performance and business needs Why Join?
