About the Role

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys building products while leading high-performing teams. They are just as comfortable reviewing pull requests and solving technical problems as they are mentoring engineers and setting technical direction. They have built and scaled cloud-based software, improved engineering processes, and know how to balance speed with reliability. They lead by example, establish high engineering standards, and thrive in fast-moving startup environments. This individual is pragmatic, technically current, and capable of turning ambitious product ideas into reliable production systems.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of approximately five engineers across multiple products Own the complete software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, deployments, environments, secrets management, and rollback strategies Improve platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and operational excellence Establish engineering standards around testing, code reviews, deployment quality, and production stability Review pull requests, pair program on complex technical challenges, and contribute code when required Partner with Product leadership on roadmap planning, technical strategy, and hiring Standardize architecture and engineering practices across multiple products Drive continuous improvement in engineering velocity, quality, and scalability

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience Proven experience leading software engineering teams Strong cloud infrastructure and DevOps expertise Demonstrated success building and shipping production software Excellent communication and technical leadership skills

Required Skills

8+ years of professional software engineering experience 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams Strong full-stack engineering skills with Python, FastAPI, React, and TypeScript Deep experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code Experience leading engineering across multiple products or teams simultaneously Proven ability to improve software reliability, deployment pipelines, and engineering operations Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical contribution Thrive in startup environments where ownership and execution matter

Preferred Skills

Experience building AI or LLM-powered applications Experience with WebRTC, real-time audio/video platforms, or voice technologies Multi-tenant SaaS experience Experience transforming internal software into commercial SaaS products
