Position Overview: The Deployment Technician is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of IT hardware, with a strong emphasis on inventory control, device preparation, and on-site equipment distribution across multiple locations. This role is highly operational and detail-oriented, requiring a structured, reliable individual who can manage repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.

The technician will act as the central point for all incoming and outgoing IT equipment, ensuring devices are properly tracked, configured, and delivered to end users across a distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities: Inventory & Asset Management

Own and maintain a highly organized inventory of all IT equipment including laptops, desktops, monitors, cables, and peripherals

Receive, label, and track all incoming equipment under asset standards

Maintain regular inventory reporting (weekly) of built vs. non-built machines and available stock

Manage stock levels, ensuring a buffer of equipment is consistently maintained

Track equipment lifecycle including new builds, deployed assets, and returned devices

Device Build & Configuration

Build and configure computers in batches

Perform Windows OS installations, imaging, and standard configuration based on company requirements

Prepare equipment for deployment, ensuring all systems are fully functional and ready for end users

Install and upgrade hardware components as needed (e.g., RAM, storage)

Logistics & Site Support

Travel to multiple sites (approx. twice per week), including locations up to 1 hour away

Deliver and deploy equipment to end users

Collect returned, recycled, or decommissioned hardware from sites

Manage e-waste and equipment recycling in compliance with company and environmental policies

End User Support

Support a large user base (approx. 1,000 end users, including a significant operational workforce and 300–400 administrative users)

Act as a point of contact for hardware deployment and basic troubleshooting

Provide guidance to end users on equipment setup and usage

Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, OS, and configuration-related issues

Operations & Documentation

Maintain accurate tracking of all activities including inventory logs and service tickets

Ensure consistent follow-up on outstanding tasks and requests

Work in a structured, repeatable process-driven environment

Skills & Qualifications:

1–3 years of hands-on experience in a computer technician or deployment role

Strong experience with device builds, imaging, and hardware troubleshooting

Highly organized with proven ability to manage inventory and track assets accurately

Reliable and consistent, with strong follow-up and accountability

Comfortable working in a repetitive, process-driven environment

Strong communication skills and ability to support end users effectively

Additional Requirements:

Valid Class G driver’s license required

Comfortable with regular travel to multiple sites

Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required
